Meet the Team
The company has three personnel, Andrew Webster (Director/principal shareholder), Paul Gunby (Director) and Patrick Clemenger Analyst/Adviser
Andrew has been involved in the investment advice/financial planning industry for over 17 years, including a regional management position with the Bank of New Zealand. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (I.F.A.). He is also a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, (formerly Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance). Andrew has day to day contact with his clients, a role he very much enjoys and is available to visit clients as required throughout New Zealand.
Andy commenced his financial planning career in 1988, and gained financial planning & banking qualifications from Massey University. Following conclusion of a 30+ years’ career with Bank of New Zealand including 8 years as South Island Manager for BNZ Investment Advisory Services Ltd, he joined Capital Financial Planning Ltd in 1996. Previous Executive positions with the Bank included periods as a Lending Manager, in Administration, Money Market, International, Marketing and a three-year tour of duty in the Suva Fiji Islands branch.
Prior to establishing Andrew Webster Limited in September 2004, he was a Director of Capital Financial Planning Ltd in Christchurch for 8 years.
Andy specialises in Private Investment Portfolio Management. This service includes retirement and investment planning for private clients, and trusts, with a major focus on day-to-day management of investment portfolios. Andy has clients throughout New Zealand and overseas.
Andy is a Authorised Financial Advisor (AFA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERcm certificant and is a member of the Financial Planners and Insurance Advisors Association Incorporated. He is also a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Banking & Finance.
Paul has over 20 years in the industry including National Manager BNZ Investment Advisory Services and General Manager of Tower Financial Advisory Services. His involvement with Andrew Webster Limited is that of an independent director providing a supportive and watching brief over the company and its activities plus a more active advice role with clients during periods when Andrew is absent. Paul coordinates a regular independent critique of all investment portfolios in order to provide elements of disciplined peer review and to ensure that each portfolio is positioned correctly in line with achievement of each client’s individual goals and objectives.
Paul has a background of Banking, Finance and Investments for the last 10 years with the Bank of New Zealand as National Manager of BNZ Investment Advisory Services Limited. He then accepted an offer as General Manager for Tower Financial Advisory Services where he remained for 6 years before pursuing his own business interest.
Always keenly interested in the professional delivery of impartial investment advice, Paul was Board member of the IAFP, The Financial Planning Organisation for New Zealand Advisers. He willingly accepted the offer to become a Director of Andrew Webster limited as Andy was one of the Bank of New Zealand Investment Advisory Team that Paul managed.
Paul is married and business and other interests include a small business advisory service, Standard Bred Horse Breeding, share trading, growing Hazelnuts and a partner in a Hotel in Roxburgh, this is managed by another ex Bank of New Zealand staff member.
Patrick is finishing his Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Batchelor of Business Studies in Finance at Massey University. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisors (IFA) and in the process of applying for his Authorised Financial Advisor (AFA) registration with the Financial Markets Authority. He is also working towards his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.
Prior to joining Andrew Webster Limited in 2014, Patrick worked as a Business Advisor and Financial Analyst at Inland Revenue for 6 years.
Patrick has a passion for the Investment Advisory Industry and believes in providing customers with objective, impartial financial advice that will ultimately assist them in reaching their financial goals and aspirations.
Patrick is married with 3 children and his other interests include playing in a local cover band, directing a small, local importing company, share trading, triathlons and wine tasting.
